Projects
Behind, around, and intertwined with everything we do is the eternal... none of us as believers or unbelievers can escape it. As believers our faith drives us to see God in us, in those around us, and in all things. What we do and say to others can have eternal consequences, not because of ourselves, but because of Him in us. In Haiti and around the world it is our youth that are the next generation for change. EPI Strategic Plan invests heavily in the youth of Tibo, by bringing the Gospel to life. Our plans include:
Establishing an annual Vacation Bible School
Providing Bibles to Bible study attendees
Establishing a permanent active Christian Youth Group
Establishing a Home Church
As you read in Our Model, it is our trade skill program that generates opportunity, and it is the Cooperative Business that becomes the vehicle to success. How can you help us continue the success of this program? Over the course of the current two year plan you will find many opportunities. How can we serve your needs?
Purchase a quality garment or accessory: t-shirts, accessories, uniforms, medical, professional, athletic.
Create your designs: custom apparel from every day to formal.
“EmpoweringPartners” is creating its own line of unique clothing and apparel boutique items; all available at our online store.
Volunteer: We need volunteers in Haiti and the US that can help promote sales, to get the word out, streamline our shipping process, and reach out to organizations, churches, sports teams, and any individual or group that needs custom printed apparel, accessories, or quality and/or custom garments.
Our print shop will be operational in August 2024. Our print shop will meet a variety of needs other than Screen Printing. Over the course of this year, we will begin to offer heat transfers and embroidery. When it is complete we will be able to meet any of your printing needs through our online store coming soon on our website menu, and here is the best part... Every purchase has a two-fold effect!
First, your order provides employment for our seamstresses and tailors. These are jobs and opportunities that did not exist prior to Empowering Partners establishment of the Sewing and Screen Print Centers. The Sewing Center provides quality garments and accessories for you, your shop, boutique, church, or your organization.
Secondly, each order provides funding that helps sustain and grow the Cooperative Business. The Cooperative Business is a vehicle that drives generational transformation from a lack of opportunity to sustainable jobs in the community.
In the Strategic Plan you will find many opportunities, programs, and initiatives to empower the community of Tibo and the surrounding areas. Some of these initiatives may seem more important than others, but rather large or seemingly insignificant these actions are dedicated to the wholeness of the individual, the family, or the community. When you invest in an initiative you are “walking with us in Tibo”. Together we can make the greatest difference! While no initiative is more important, some have an urgency...
Fall of 2024 will see more progress on the Volunteer Center. The building is currently staked out and awaits funding to proceed. The Volunteer center will allow up to 16 volunteers to visit and be comfortably housed on campus. The center when complete will include an exterior kitchen, couples, private, and female / male dorm style quarters. There will also be a volunteer lounge, adequate bathrooms, and will include the famous Haiti “rooftop experience”. You have to experience it for yourself!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of ministry and mission. Volunteers bring love, compassion, and new hope, they share professional skillsets, they often provide needed equipment and funding, they share and demonstrate their faith. Volunteers establish new and often lifelong friendships and so much more! Many volunteers upon their exit will proclaim they are sure they received more than they gave. The unpredictable security situation in Haiti over the last four years has squelched the efforts of all but the most seasoned volunteers. But... we are hopeful that the recent creation of a transitional government and the long anticipated arrival of an “international police force” will bring security and safety again throughout all of Haiti. We are hopeful to have small groups of volunteers later this year.
Maintaining and enhancing our campus, its current buildings, the community garden, and our infrastructure is vital to our success. Haiti’s climate is unrelenting on physical structures and equipment. We strive to maintain, clean, and secure all we have been blessed with. It is an ongoing daily chore. We also try to consistently upgrade our compound, for instance we installed security cameras at all our buildings and other strategic points such as the entry gate.
As we continue to create a more secure campus, extending the security wall is essential as we begin the Volunteer Center. The wall extension as intended for 2024 will encompass the Volunteer Center. Providing a secure place for our volunteers is a priority. This year as funding allows, we will construct an additional 354 feet.
Consistent and integral to our model is continuing to partner and communicate with the community of Tibo. Every community regardless of their current poverty or wealth can collectively learn to articulate what they see as their community assets and liabilities. Every community has resources as well as needs. In the fall of 2024, EPI will hold multi-day forums that will create a better understanding of the community we serve and how the community can interact with EPI to foster a common, more closely aligned vision.
