Volunteer Stateside
It is not necessary to travel to Haiti to make an important contribution or to be a part of the team. Empowering Partners has a critical need for volunteers in a variety of ways stateside in the US. For many organizations that serve internationally, having dedicated volunteers on the ground in the US is essential to accomplish their mission purpose and vision. Stateside volunteers are extraordinarily important to EPI’s mission especially considering the logistics required for the Cooperative Business to succeed. Becoming a Sponsor
We welcome and encourage you to consider becoming a sponsor. We believe sponsorship is much more than providing a donation for someone’s benefit. We see sponsorship as a relationship where both people receive as well as give. When we look more closely at the developing world, we begin to realize that it is not as simple as one person has needs and the other has resources. If we are honest with ourselves; when we engage with people who live in abject poverty, they are often rich in ways that we are poor. Many of us who live in prosperity are poor in loving those who appear different from us, in loving or even knowing our neighbors, in sustaining a sense of community. Some of the most joyful people we know have very few material possessions. We have much to learn from each other...
EPI offers many different programs that will benefit the individual, families, or the community. Having a sponsor for a program allows for a broader impact. While the ways one could sponsor someone are almost endless. Later in 2024 we will be offering sponsorship opportunities, make sure you are signed up for our newsletter to view these opportunities. There are some guardrails that must be acknowledged to keep everyone involved in sponsorship safe and secure. Into Action
Making a difference in the world may seem out of reach, most of us are not called to “set the world on fire” or “transform humanity” as we know it. But any of us with a heart for those who live in abject poverty in a developing nation such as Haiti; and have the advantages of living in an industrialized nation such as the US can have a great impact on one person’s life. At EPI that is how we look at our work, our gift. The gift of transforming one individual life at a time. It makes a massive difference in the world.
