Something Needs to Change… we cannot be silent

Day by day the situation inside Haiti continues to deteriorate. For our brothers and sisters who live in Haiti life is difficult. As the violent gangs and rogue police continue to escalate and normalize chaos, division, and hopelessness those we love continue to suffer. Today the world community through the UN Security Council made another gesture asking all parties to unite and "play nice". What could the outcome possibly be in a country where all systems of governance, security, and finances are totally broken? It is so important that the people of Haiti solve their problem... create solutions that "outsiders" often cannot see or are misguided in implementation. This is a country of people not unlike the world over... they just want a bit of dignity and a voice. Haitian people want the same things all God's kids want, employment, shelter, food, education for their children, healthcare... and peace. Our prayers must be unending for those we know and love in Haiti. We want our prayers to give our loving God no rest... to be continual... incessant. Lord please move on Haiti! The days to come will be dark and the suffering will be great... God has great compassion for those in need, the poor, the hungry, and the infirm. His mercy falls on the voiceless and the powerless. God also has great contempt for those that ignore the poor, those in need.

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’45 “He will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.” 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Matthew 25:44-46
